Conduwuit

Conduwuit (stylized conduwuit) was a Matrix implementation forked from Conduit made in the Rust programming language. As of April 2025, it has been discontinued^[1] due to a variety of reasons. It is the fastest implementation without aggressive tuning.

However, it had many issues:

bad fork point
non-descriptive commits
bad development workflow
lack of code review
irresponsible security disclosures
bad moderation
- allowing Jason Volk to exist
- banning entire servers from the chat on the basis of disagreement
- banning entire servers from the chat on the basis of running Grapevine
stealing code from Grapevine^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5]
